Filler words are the verbal packing peanuts of a sales call. A few are normal. Too many and the buyer hears uncertainty before they hear your point. The hard part is that you rarely notice your own habits while you are speaking.

This counter runs entirely in your browser. Your transcript is never uploaded. That privacy line is literal: this page makes no network request with your text. Paste a recording transcript, a practice script, or a talk track and see the count update as you type.

You get total fillers, filler rate as a share of words, fillers per 100 words, and a ranked list of offenders. Multi-word phrases like "you know" and "kind of" are matched before single words so the count stays honest. Under about 2% is clean. Two to five percent is normal conversational speech. Over 5% is usually noticeable to a listener.

Counting is not the same as fixing. The honest path is awareness plus deliberate pauses. Most fillers appear when the brain is still forming the next sentence. If you train yourself to stop talking for half a second instead of saying "um," the rate drops without sounding robotic.

Reps who practice with a script often sound worse on the first few runs because they are reading and padding. That is useful data. Run the counter on a practice take, cut the worst phrases, then record again. Do the same with a real call transcript once a week and you will see which habits survive pressure.

One more practical tip: do not try to eliminate every "so" or "just." Context matters. The goal is fewer unconscious stalls in high-stakes moments, not sterile speech. Listen for clusters at the start of answers and right before the ask. That is where deals feel the drag.
